“Let's cut to the chase. Can't have the witness dying before the testimony is taken.”
The protagonist of Silver Palace. After leaving Silvernia for three years following a disaster, the Detective returns to the city in the third year of Queen Feliana's reign. Beneath the illusion of peace, conspiracies take root: a fragile justice system and opaque noble politics have laid the stage for those who seek the truth. This is the golden age of detectives.
The Detective is rational, reliable, clear-minded, and efficient — searching for the truth behind the death of a loved one. They are no armchair detective: a single glance is enough to gather clues, unmask a disguised werewolf, or read the subtle tells of a stranger.
Their signature Mind Palace ability lets them recreate a crime scene in their head from the evidence on their board with exceptional accuracy. The gift has a price: using it is exhaustingly taxing and causes vivid nightmares, which only Firtho’s medicine can soothe.
The Detective has light lavender hair worn in a long, flowy ponytail, and denim-blue irises with bright red pupils, usually set in a calculated expression. A black hat with a white ribbon and a purple feather rests on their head — a fedora for the female Detective, a top hat for the male. They dress in a white shirt under a black leather vest, carry a silvery cane whose head curves like a raven’s claw, and fight with a conjured double-edged silver sword and a revolver. A raven motif runs through their entire design.
The Detective is one half of the famed detective duo at S.T.A.T.S. — the elder sister known as the Raven's Claws, or the younger brother known as the Raven's Beak — once the city's most distinguished investigators. Three years ago, an airship crash linked to the Queen's assassination claimed their sibling and, unfairly, earned the survivor the title of “Queen Slayer”.
Their reluctant return to Silvernia has one true purpose: solving the mystery behind their sibling's murder, believed to be tied to the same forces behind The Nameless Ashes case. Along the way they rebuild their office, interview assistants, and navigate the city's police, nobles, and underworld alike.
The siblings’ default names are Hugin and Munin — the twin prophetic ravens of Odin in Norse mythology.
Their Gravitas Reactor lets them manipulate gravity and even slow enemies with time dilation.
They can shape pure Silverium into constructs — armor around their arm, or their signature double-ended silver sword.
In the “Black Knights’ Tango” trailer, the male Detective parries bullets with his cane.
