The only free character Elementa has promised for launch is an unnamed new 4-star, unlocked if pre-registrations reach 30 million. On 31 October 2026 only the first tier, 15 million, had been reached. In the Dichotomy beta (July to August 2026), the Detective, Lorin and Alf joined through the story, and log-in rewards handed out Bentham and the 5-star Red Rose. None of the beta rewards carry over to the launch on 14 December 2026, and Elementa has not said whether they will return.

Updated 31 October 2026: this page now lists the launch-side rewards: the pre-registration milestones, the 30 million 4-star and the Mystery Unveiled web event. Everything about story and log-in characters is beta data and can change at launch.

Which Silver Palace Characters Are Free?

Two lists matter: what the beta gave away, and what launch has promised. They overlap less than you might expect.

The story units are the safe bet. The Detective is the playable lead, and Elementa's character pages present two versions: Munin, the female Detective, and Hugin, the male one. Qidion describes choosing one of the two as a highlight of the beta (31 October 2026, 4:59). Lorin is the Chief Inspector who pulls the Detective into the Nameless Ashes case, and earlier beta coverage had him joining free early in Act I. We have not found that moment on screen in the footage used for this update, so treat it as reported.

Is There a Free 5-Star Character in Silver Palace?

Yes, two in the beta, and one is guaranteed at launch. The Detective is listed as a 5-star on this site's roster and comes with the story, so every account has one. That is not a choice you can reroll.

The second was Red Rose. Elementa's Dichotomy notice of 23 July 2026 gave her as a log-in reward on day 3 and again on day 7, so testers who logged in for a week ended with two copies. Under the beta rules, a second copy counts as a duplicate, which converts into the character's Trait. The same log-in calendar gave her Saviour Motive, the 5-star "The Bloodbath Mystery", on day 5. A free 5-star character plus her 5-star Motive was the most generous part of the beta.

That matters because Red Rose topped the beta tier lists: fan-compiled rankings from silverpalacemeta (29 August 2026) and LDShop (30 August 2026) both put her in their highest tier, next to Cinderella. If she is free again at launch, she is the first character to build. If she lands on a banner instead, the gacha guide explains what 100 pulls buys. Elementa has not said which way it will go, and no launch banner is announced yet.

No free 5-star is announced for launch beyond the Detective. The pre-registration character is a 4-star.

Pre-Registration Rewards: The Free 4-Star at 30 Million

Elementa opened the Global Pre-Registration Milestone event on 23 September 2026. The page lists five tiers by number of sign-ups and one tied to followers across the official social accounts. Aster Gacha Games filmed the page on 3 October 2026, when only the first tier was marked achieved.

A full clear pays one new 4-star, 20 Simulation Shots, 80,000 Ounce and ten Volume III books, which are character levelling material. Elementa's launch press release of 31 October 2026 says the game has "over 15 million global pre-registrations", which matches the one achieved tier. The official site's own counter showed the 20 million tier and the follower tier still open on the same day.

Aster Gacha Games, 0:40. The 30 million tier shows the new 4-star only as a silhouette, so the character's identity is still unknown.

Three things are still open:

  • Who the 4-star is. The reward art is a silhouette. A twin-tailed girl in red and black from leaked art is the community's guess, by fan-compiled data, and nothing official links her to this tier.
  • What counts toward the total. Elementa's press release mentions both pre-registration and follower milestones. Gematsu reports pre-registrations, while Game8 describes the campaign as based on combined follower counts.
  • Whether the numbers are real. Aster Gacha Games doubts the totals and suspects some inflation (2:21). That is an opinion, not evidence, but it is a reason not to count on the 30 million tier.

Simulation Shots are also new: neither beta used the name, and Elementa has not said which banner they pull on.

Free Characters From the Story (Beta)

Pyrrh Gacha's beginner guide, recorded in the beta, says you will not need to think about acquiring characters for at least the first hour (1:57). Your first party comes from the story. The first face after that opening is Alf.

Silver Palace dialogue where Alf, the maid, introduces herself to the player after the opening hours: cooks, cleans and fights
Pyrrh Gacha, 2:05. Alf introduces herself when you wake in your own bed, the point where Pyrrh says your daily routine should begin.

Tystra confirms that Alf comes "pretty early on", from the first main quest, and calls her "the third free character that you get in the game" (8:22). That count fits the Detective and Lorin coming first. On Argos, Tystra is less sure: "if I remember correctly, he is a free character" (6:34). We list Argos as unconfirmed until someone shows the moment on screen.

How far can free units carry you? Pyrrh reports getting almost to the end of Act 4 with "mediocre work on the MC and some free characters", and only needing to train up for one boss fight there (6:44). That is the beta story. Launch could add or remove free recruits.

Beta Log-In Rewards: Bentham and Red Rose

Elementa's "Fortnight of Deduction" in the Dichotomy beta paid out by cumulative log-in days:

DayReward
Day 2Bentham, 4-star Outlaw
Day 3Red Rose, 5-star Saviour
Day 5The Bloodbath Mystery, 5-star Saviour Motive
Day 7Red Rose, second copy
Day 14Judgement Shot x60, Deduction Shot x40, Standard Shot x110, Insight Shot x60

On top of that, 21 days of log-in mail added 73,800 Reactor Crystals and more Shots, and City Events offered 30 or more pulls. Elementa's own summary was 270 draws from the log-in event and the equivalent of over 500 by mail.

None of it survived. The same notice says characters obtained in the Dichotomy test "can only be used during this test", and the Retrace test that followed wiped its data too. Bentham is worth wanting anyway: Tystra calls her "absolutely busted" as a Resonance DPS (2:09).

What Free Rewards Are Confirmed for Launch?

As of 31 October 2026, here is everything official or reported for launch day:

  • The pre-registration milestones above, including the new 4-star at 30 million.
  • Mystery Unveiled, a web prize draw from 31 October to 13 December 2026, 23:59 (UTC+8). Every 10 draws guarantees The Curiosity Mystery, a 4-star Hero Motive that suits Alf, by fan-compiled reporting. Qidion mentions the same Alf Motive as a pre-registration site reward (3:13). It is a Motive, not a character.
  • No launch log-in calendar has been announced. Elementa's 22 August 2026 post on Dichotomy feedback lists changes to combat, story, the open world and performance, and says nothing about free characters or log-in rewards.
  • No redeem codes exist yet, and none were issued during the betas, by fan-compiled reporting.

Are Free Characters Worth Building?

The free 4-stars fill real roles, which is the main reason not to skip them:

  • Alf is a Break Suppressor. Tystra says she is "worth building up" and a good substitute if you would rather not build Lorin (8:20). Fan rankings put her low (C on silverpalacemeta's August list), so the creator and the fan site disagree.
  • Lorin is the other early Break Suppressor, ranked B on the same fan list.
  • Red Rose, if she is free again, is the clear pick: top tier on every beta list we checked.
  • Bentham was ranked A by silverpalacemeta, and Tystra rates her highly.

For a three-slot party, the combat style guide explains why one Break Suppressor helps, and the tier list ranks the rest. If you are thinking of restarting for a better opening, read the reroll guide first.

Ask on Discord
Does Silver Palace have free characters?
Yes. In the Dichotomy beta (July to August 2026), the Detective, Lorin and Alf joined through the story, and log-in rewards gave Bentham (day 2) and the 5-star Red Rose (days 3 and 7). For the 14 December 2026 launch, the only promised free character is an unnamed new 4-star from the 30 million pre-registration milestone, which had not been reached on 31 October 2026.
Is there a free 5-star character in Silver Palace?
The Detective, the protagonist, is a 5-star every account gets. In the Dichotomy beta, Red Rose was also free as a log-in reward on days 3 and 7, with her 5-star Motive The Bloodbath Mystery on day 5. As of 31 October 2026, Elementa has not announced a free 5-star for launch beyond the Detective.
What is the free 4-star pre-registration reward in Silver Palace?
The 30 million tier of the Global Pre-Registration Milestone event unlocks a new 4-star character, shown only as a silhouette and not yet named. On 31 October 2026 only the 15 million tier (80,000 Ounce) had been reached. A full clear also pays 20 Simulation Shots.
Will Red Rose be free at launch?
Unknown. Red Rose was a free log-in reward in the Dichotomy beta, but Elementa has not said whether the launch version on 14 December 2026 will give her away again or put her on a banner. As of 31 October 2026, no launch log-in calendar or banner has been announced.
Do characters from the Silver Palace beta carry over to launch?
No. Elementa's Dichotomy notice of 23 July 2026 says characters obtained in that test can only be used during the test, and the Dichotomy: Retrace test wiped its data when it ended. Every account starts fresh at launch on 14 December 2026.
