Lore

Can those of us with nothing still dream of wearing beautiful clothes? Can Cinderella hold out long enough for her fairy godmother to appear?
The composed girl said, trust my hands. The lively girl said, trust my eye. The eldest girl urged, hurry up, the curfew warden won't stay fooled much longer.
They measured narrow shoulders and stitched a young girl's dreams into rough curtain fabric, yet the finished dress looked as though it had stepped straight from the pages of a fashion plate.
Stitch by careful stitch, the fairy godmother's magic came to life. All so that one of them, even if only one, could walk into the ball.
