The Silver Palace tips that matter most: parry yellow circles, dodge red ones, follow a perfect dodge with a basic attack, and never let Vitality or Free Time sit at the cap. The rest of this list comes from creators who played the Dichotomy beta (CBT2, July to August 2026), checked against the game's own tutorial text and Elementa's posts. The game launches on 14 December 2026 (UTC+8), and some of these numbers will move.
Updated 31 October 2026: this guide replaces the placeholder that stood here since July. Combat tips are built on GxG Noir's mechanics guide and Blue Screen Of Tech's combat audit; city and resource tips on Pyrrh Gacha's CBT2 walkthrough.
Should you parry or dodge in Silver Palace?
Read the colour of the circle before you press anything. Enemies flash a coloured circle as they wind up, and each colour asks for a different answer. The in-game Tutorials, Battle page has an entry for each one, and Blue Screen Of Tech explains them in their combat audit:
| Circle | What it means | Your answer |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | A parryable attack | Parry just before the hit |
| Red | Cannot be parried | Dodge it, right before the hit for a perfect dodge |
| Blue | The attack can be interrupted | Interrupt it before it lands |
Elementa's own combat notice (22 July 2026) confirms the yellow rule: parry just before the hit lands to take less damage and deal damage back, and successful parries chain into combos. Red circles cannot be parried at all, so a parry habit has to stop at red. Blue Screen Of Tech calls one out mid-fight: yellow means they can parry, red means they have to dodge.
Perfect dodge, then attack. A dodge timed right before the hit is a perfect dodge. The tutorial text GxG Noir puts on screen is explicit about the follow-up:

A perfect dodge skips straight to the 5th hit of the basic combo, and that hit interrupts the enemy too. GxG Noir calls it a counterattack, and says that is their name for it, not the game's.
How do you get Tactical Assaults faster?
Parry and execute more. Attacking fills the Reactor gauge; each full gauge is one Reactor Energy, up to three. Swapping in a character while you hold at least one triggers their Tactical Assault, a unique entry attack. GxG Noir's tip is the part most players miss: parries and Executions build Silverdrip, which speeds up how fast Reactor Energy refills. Defensive play is also your fastest route to more swaps.

Some Tactical Assaults are more than damage. Severe Deterrent counters and interrupts enemies that attack during it, so the right moment to swap is while the enemy swings, not after. GxG Noir pins it on one of the Glacies characters; the name is garbled in their captions, most likely Gratia.
Three more combat habits from the same creators:
- Tactical Assault without leaving the field. Press the number of the character already on the field, as if swapping to them. Pyrrh Gacha says the assault fires and they stay in. It is the trick for solo runs.
- Execute from where you stand. When an enemy's poise breaks it is Stunned. GxG Noir points out you do not need to run over: the Execution button works at range. After an Execution the enemy enters a Weakened state, Elementa's notice says, so keep attacking.
- Skills have no cooldown. Each character builds a personal resource instead (Cinderella from attacks, Firtho passively over time, per GxG Noir). Check the resource, not a timer. Catalysts also fire on every Tactical Assault, which is why the catalysts guide treats swaps as part of the rotation.
Is there an easy mode in Silver Palace? (Casual Mode)
Yes. The game's Tutorials page (shown by Blue Screen Of Tech at 0:47) names two combat modes, Classic and Casual, chosen in Settings, Combat. Classic is the full action game. Casual is described as the mode "for those looking to enjoy the narrative, exploration, and collection elements".
Elementa's combat notice says Casual Mode does three things: repeated left clicks string stylish combos together, the game slows time with Time Dilation, and a prompt appears just before you are hit. Pyrrh Gacha describes an even simpler setting on top of that, where the character fights for you while you hold the left mouse button. They also say the game suggested switching when they kept losing. Note the mismatch: Elementa writes repeated clicks, Pyrrh describes holding the button, and no video we checked shows the Casual prompts on screen, so treat the details as beta behaviour.
Use it without guilt for the story. Pyrrh got near the end of Act 4 as a self-described button-masher. Blue Screen Of Tech recorded all their footage in Classic, so most beta videos you watch show the harder mode.
How should you spend Free Time?
On any City Affairs minigame, daily. Free Time refills on its own and is wasted at the cap. CBT2 had three games, and Pyrrh says more are planned.

Scarlet Gambit is a card game Pyrrh compares to Balatro, and their favourite of the three. Levels start easy and ramp up. Their advice: read the tutorials closely and do not get fancy in the higher levels, where flushes are the only real way to win.

The Coffee House is the quick option: a clicker where you pick beans and cup size for each order against a timer. Pyrrh's warning for PC players: it seemed harder the wider their screen was, and they hope the layout gets adjusted. Worth knowing on an ultrawide monitor.

The Royal Equestrian Tournament is horse racing, popular with players though Pyrrh admits they never mastered the drift. The controls are on screen: Boost on Shift, Drift on Space, with a short cooldown dial.

Any mix of the three spends the same Free Time, so pick the one you are fastest at.
How do you make early teams hit harder?
Two rules from the beta make a cheap team stronger without new pulls.
- Swap during charged attacks. Elementa calls it Synchronised Combat: switch while a character is in a Charged Attack or Charged Skill and the outgoing character stays on the field until the action ends. Two characters fight at once for a moment, which is free damage on every rotation.
- Stack one Reactor Attribute. Each attribute fills its own Resonance gauge on the enemy and pays out its own effect when full. GxG Noir notes that Resonance builds faster the more characters of the same attribute you field, so a mono-Glacies or mono-Fulmen team triggers its effect more often. There are no elemental reactions to chase, and Elementa's Dichotomy combat notice mentions no bonus for mixing attributes.
Our Resonance guide lists the seven effects, and the combat styles guide covers which roles to put around your damage dealer.
Which resource mistakes should you avoid?
Most of these are timers. Silver Palace rewards logging in more than playing long.
| Trap | Why it costs you | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Vitality at the cap | Refill stops; lost EXP, Ounce and boss materials | Spend it daily, Detective materials first |
| Free Time at the cap | Same, for minigame currencies | One minigame a day is enough |
| Farming Case Review bosses for drops | Only one reward claim per day | Claim once, fight again only for practice |
| Late City Property claims | Assistants paid every 12 hours in CBT2 | Claim each refresh, or at least at login |
| Ignoring Antique Coins | Twin Argent Strands (Method 9 to 10) sell one per month | Start City Property in week one |
| Skipping Character Tutorials | First clears pay rewards | Run each one once |
| Gifting one character | Each character has a daily gift cap | Spread gifts across your team |
| Standard banner with crystals | No wishlist, by Hako's reading of the rules | Save crystals for limited banners |
Hilbert's Hotel deserves its own line. Rexlent counts about 900 premium currency a week from its weekly missions, and Pyrrh says you earn weekly points even without a full clear. Skip a week and you lose a quarter of a ten-pull (3,600 Reactor Crystals). More in the game modes guide and the gacha system guide.
Small exploration tricks
- Kinesis on the right mouse button. Hold it to grab objects at range. Pyrrh's reminder: some hidden packages are awkward to pick up until you remember it.
- Craft the Package Locator. Pyrrh says it becomes craftable after you find a certain number of packages, and some packages are very hard to find.
- Rewatch the tutorials. The Tutorials tile in the main menu keeps every combat and system page, including the circle colours above.
New players should start with the beginner guide. For roles and teams, see the combat styles guide and the tier list.

Frequently asked questions
4 answers, always open
- Should I parry or dodge in Silver Palace?
- Read the circle. A yellow circle marks a parryable attack (parry just before the hit, per Elementa's 22 July 2026 combat notice); a red circle cannot be parried, so dodge, ideally right before the hit for a perfect dodge; a blue circle means the attack can be interrupted. This is Dichotomy beta behaviour.
- What happens after a perfect dodge in Silver Palace?
- Press Basic Attack right after a Perfect Dodge and the character jumps straight to the 5th hit of their Basic Attack combo, which interrupts the enemies it hits. That is the game's own tutorial wording in the Dichotomy beta, shown in GxG Noir's mechanics guide (9 August 2026).
- How do I get Reactor Energy faster in Silver Palace?
- Parry and execute. Attacks fill the Reactor gauge, up to three Reactor Energy for Tactical Assaults, and GxG Noir explains that parries and Executions also build Silverdrip, which speeds up Reactor Energy gain. Pressing the on-field character's number fires their Tactical Assault without swapping, per Pyrrh Gacha. Beta data, 2026.
- What are the biggest beginner mistakes in Silver Palace?
- Letting Vitality or Free Time sit at the cap, farming Case Review bosses for drops when only one claim per day pays, claiming City Property assistants late (they paid every 12 hours in the Dichotomy beta), skipping Hilbert's Hotel weeks (about 900 premium currency each, per Rexlent) and spending crystals on the standard banner, which has no wishlist.
